INFORMATION

Whether you need information on parking, public transport or general info about the festival, you’ll find everything you need here! If you can’t find an answer to your question, please get in touch and we will be happy to help!

The Minehead Bay Festival is located on Minehead’s Esplanade on Warren Road, TA24 5BG.

You can access the festival site in multiple ways. Via public transport, you can take the No. 28 bus from Taunton. Or you can travel in style and make a day of it with a trip on a vintage steam train with West Somerset Railway.

There are several Pay and Display car parks close to the Minehead Bay Festival site. These include:

  • Warren Road – opposite Butlins near to the Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club
  • Station Car Park
  • North Road Car Park
  • Summerland Car Park
  • Alexandra Road Car Park
  • Quay West Car Park

These car parks are all within walking distance of the Minehead Bay Festival site.

There is medical provision throughout the festival. If you or someone you know requires medical assistance at the festival, please speak to a member of staff or a marshal in a high-vis vest, who will be able to assist you with calling the first aid team. The first aid tent can be found behind Channel Adventure Centre and is staffed with trained medical personnel throughout the festival.

The festival is staffed by a willing and amazing team of volunteers from our local community. As the festival grows, we are always on the lookout for eager volunteers who’d like to be involved! If you’d like to know more about our volunteering role and how to get involved, check out our volunteer page here.

If you lose any personal items at the festival, please speak to a marshal in a high-vis vest as soon as you can. Any lost property that is found and handed in will be held at the Channel Adventure Centre until collected. Any items that are not collected after 60 days will be donated to charity.

There are trained SIA security personnel at the festival to ensure the safety of attendees. The festival is also staffed by voluntary marshals from our community. If you require any assistance or see anything that may put members of the public at risk, please speak to a member of staff in a high-vis vest, and they will be able to assist you.

If you have become separated from a member of your party at the festival, please speak to a member of staff in a high-vis vest immediately who will notify Event Control. There are lost children procedures in place at the festival

If possible, leave a member of your party in the area where you last saw the person. It also helps if you write your mobile phone number on your child’s hand using semi-permanent ink!

We take our responsibility to the environment and local wildlife very seriously. We are always working to improve the sustainability of the festival and reduce our carbon footprint.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to join a Green Advisory Group that will meet twice a year. The group will help us to ensure our projects, including the Minehead Bay Festival, are as ‘green’ and eco-friendly as possible. If you have ideas about how we can improve and would like to know more about what being a member of the Green Advisory Group entails, please get in touch. You can also find out more about our volunteer roles here.

Single-use plastic is banned at the Minehead Bay Festival. Traders who are booked to attend the festival must not sell items with single-use packaging, such as plastic straws and plastic pint cups. In addition, we encourage staff, volunteers and attendees to bring reusable cups and bottles to the festival where possible.

It’s important to stay hydrated, particularly if the weather is hot. There is a free water fountain on the Esplanade, close to the Jubilee Cafe, to enable you to refill your bottles.

We provide recycling bins throughout the site which are regularly cleaned and emptied by our team. Please use the right bin to ensure your waste goes into the correct recycling stream and not into landfill. Better still, if possible, please consider taking your rubbish home with you when you go.

We are always working to improve the accessibility of the festival to ensure that the festival is welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

As the festival primarily takes place on the concrete esplanade, the majority of the festival site is accessible to wheelchairs and people with reduced mobility. However, some elements of the festival take place on the beach which is not accessible to wheelchairs.

There are two wheelchair-accessible toilets on site – one at the Butlins end of the festival site, and one portable accessible toilet near Channel Adventure Centre and the pedestrian crossing.

As the festival grows, we are working hard to ensure the festival is accessible for everyone. If you have any ideas on how we can improve accessibility, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

We love to hear from members of the press who would like to cover the festival either before, during or after the event. If you’d like to know more about our charity and projects, including the Minehead Bay Festival, please get in touch with our Project Coordinator, Zara Aitken at zara@mineheadandcoast.org.uk or fill in the contact form today.
