FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Minehead Bay Festival is a not-for-profit event run by registered charity Minehead and Coast Development Trust. While we have a small team of two part-time members of staff, our trustees and directors work as volunteers. Any profits generated by our projects, such as the Minehead Bay Festival, are put back into the community and charity.

The Minehead Bay Festival costs much more to deliver than the income it generates. However, all revenue goes back into the community and supports the charity to deliver more community-focused projects for Minehead.

Since 2022, the Minehead Bay Festival has brought the community together to celebrate art, culture and community on Minehead’s beautiful seafront. As a free festival, the Minehead Bay Festival provides people with an opportunity to try new things, expand their creative horizons and meet other members of their community.

In addition, the Minehead Bay Festival brings people to our town and boosts the local economy and makes the most of our local green and natural spaces!

MCDT is a registered charity working for the benefit of Minehead. Our purpose is to deliver projects that improve Minehead as a place to live, work and visit. You can find out more about our organisation on our website.

While the festival is currently supported by grant funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for the next two years, we want the festival to continue beyond that. We understand that not everyone can donate, and that’s okay. But if you do feel you can support the Minehead Bay Festival financially, even £5 makes a difference and will help to ensure the Minehead Bay Festival continues for years to come.
